Man-Living-Health

The book, Man-Living-Health: A Theory of Nursing sets forth a different paradigm of nursing rooted in the human sciences. The different paradigm is an alternative to the traditional medical model predominant in the nursing literature in 1981. Dr. Parse said that the creation of the theory began many years before the publication and surfaced with her living experiences with others, forecasting her notion of the humans’ cocreation with predecessors, contemporaries and successors. The evolution of the theory is clearly explicated and her attention to detail articulating the antecedents and their connectedness made this work the first of its kind in the theoretical world of nursing. Her devotion to the advancement of nursing knowledge is clearly articulated herein.
Dr Mary Morrow (2012, p. 112) offered this review of Man-Living-Health: A Theory of Nursing.
